AZ-700: Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure Networking Solutions
Course Overview
Course Description
Elevate your networking expertise with AZ700: Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure Networking Solutions. This instructor-led course empowers you to architect, deploy, and maintain secure, high-performance, enterprise-grade networks in Azure. You’ll learn to configure advanced solutions—ranging from virtual network design and hybrid connectivity to traffic distribution, network security, and monitoring—using Azure’s native services.
This training prepares you for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate certification and equips you with the skills to support robust, scalable, and compliant network infrastructures.
Target Audience
Network Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Azure Administrators responsible for designing and managing complex Azure networking solutions
IT professionals preparing for the AZ700 certification exam
Those with foundational networking knowledge and Azure experience who want to deepen skills in secure cloud networking
Prerequisites:
Proficiency in enterprise networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, routing, VPNs, firewalls)
Hands-on experience with Azure portal, powershell/CLI, and basic VM/network configuration
Course Outline
Module 1: Design and Implement Azure Virtual Networks
Architect Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, public/private IP addressing, and DNS
Configure VNet peering, Virtual NAT, and name resolution for optimized connectivity
Module 2: Design and Implement Hybrid Networking
Build hybrid connectivity via Site-toSite, Point-toSite VPNs, Azure Virtual WAN, and network virtual appliances
Plan for secure and reliable connectivity between on-premises and Azure environments
Module 3: Implement Azure ExpressRoute and Private Connectivity
Design ExpressRoute circuits with Global Reach and FastPath
Provide private access to Azure services using Private Link and service endpoints
Module 4: Configure Load Balancing and Traffic Management
Balance inbound/outbound, non-HTTP(S) traffic with Azure Load Balancer and Traffic Manager
Manage HTTP(S) traffic using Application Gateway and Azure Front Door
Plan for high availability, global performance, and failover scenarios
Module 5: Design Network Security and Governance
Apply security at scale: NSGs, ASGs, Azure Firewall, WAF, and Azure DDoS Protection
Integrate security recommendations using Defender for Cloud
Enforce compliance via policy and centralized management tools
Module 6: Monitor and Troubleshoot Azure Network Environments
Enable network observability with Azure Monitor, Network Watcher, Connection Monitor, Traffic Analytics, and NSG Flow Logs
Troubleshoot performance and connectivity using packet capture and diagnostic tools
Implement logging, alerting, and proactive network health monitoring
HandsOn Experience
Expect 40–50% of class time devoted to practical exercises. You’ll configure VNets, set up hybrid connections, secure traffic, and monitor realworld Azure network implementations to reinforce Azure networking solutions expertise.
Skills You’ll Gain
Architect secure, segmented Azure Virtual Networks and hybrid connectivity paths
