Course Description

Unlock hybrid and multicloud server management capabilities by learning to deploy and manage Azure Arcenabled Servers. This instructor-led, intermediate course empowers IT professionals to connect, govern, secure, and update Windows and Linux servers outside of Azure using Azure Arc. You’ll learn to extend Azure Policy, implement Update Manager, secure servers with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and use scripting to automate hybrid server administration. The class features approximately 40–50% hands-on interactive sessions.

  • Use methods such as ARM templates, Scriptable onboarding, or Configuration Manager for efficient provisioning 

Module 3: Govern Hybrid and Multicloud Servers via Azure Arc

  • Apply governance using Azure Policy, Guest Configuration, and Azure Automanage

  • Automate configuration and compliance for Arc-enabled servers 

Module 4: Configure Updates with Azure Update Manager

  • Leverage Azure Update Manager to schedule and manage OS updates

  • Monitor update compliance for Windows and Linux Arc-enabled servers 

Module 5: Secure Servers Using Microsoft Defender for Cloud

  • Configure Microsoft Defender for Cloud to secure non-Azure servers

  • Onboard Arc-enabled Windows/Linus servers and enable threat detection & compliance monitoring 

Module 6: Manage Azure ArcEnabled Servers via Scripting

  • Automate onboarding and management using PowerShell and CLI scripts

  • Scale deployments with scriptable methods and Configuration Manager integration 


HandsOn Experience

About 40–50% of the course is hands-on, featuring guided demos, group exercises, and real-world scenarios focused on deploying, governing, securing, and automating Azure Arc-enabled Servers.
