Course Overview
In this course, students will learn how to implement best practices for enterprise grade monitoring and operations for workloads in Microsoft Azure. Topics will include understanding the big picture and use cases for the various services available for use in Azure such as Azure Monitor and Alerts, Log Analytics, Security Center, Application Insights, and Azure Automation. This course will provide a thorough understanding of how to use the Kusto query language across services.

Course Outline
MODULE 1: Azure Monitoring the Big Picture
In this module, students are introduced to the various services available for monitoring and alerts. This module will provide a guide on when to use which service and how they interact with each other.
MODULE 2: Querying Data with the Kusto Query Language
In this module, students will be taught how to structure queries using the Kusto Query Language (KQL). This language is key for querying data from monitoring services in Azure.
MODULE 3: Implementing Azure Monitor and Alerts
In this module, students take a deep dive look at how to use Azure Monitor and Alerts to monitor services and infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
MODULE 4: Implementing Log Analytics and the Azure Activity Log
In this module, students take a deep dive into Log Analytics and the Azure Activity Log. Topics will include importing data from various sources, setting up alerts, filtering and querying data.
MODULE 5: Introduction to Azure Automation
In this module, students will learn what Azure Automation is used for and some of the common operations it can be used for.
MODULE 6: Introduction to Application Insights
In this module, students will learn how Azure Application Insights can be used by developers to instrument applications to provide rich telemetry for operations.
