Many organizations spend more on their Azure deployemnts because their workloads are not properly cost-optimized. In this course, students will learn how to avoid over-spending on Azure by creating and maintaining a cost-optimized application.

The course opens by explaining Azure subscription and resource management, and the governance controls available to control unauthorized Azure spending. Students then study the Azure billing model across a wide range of common resource types, together with the available discount plans, and learn how to use the Azure Pricing calculator and related tools to generate accurate cost forecasts. This is followed by a detailed presentation of practical of cost-savings techniques which students can apply optimize the cost footprint of a wide range of common workloads.

The course also discusses the tools available for cost management in Azure. This includes cost reporting, internal cross-charging, and billing alerts.
